ABOUT TIM

Timothy J. Cochrane, the son of a New York City Police Officer and one of eight children growing up in the Cochrane residence, grew up in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn. Following the lead of his father to put his family and his country first, Tim joined the United States Marine Corp. (USMC), serving honorably from 1981 to 1985. Thirteen of those months were spent attached to mine fields in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Upon his honorable discharge from the USMC, Tim returned to Brooklyn, settling in Bay Ridge and working as a floor technician on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). In 1992, Tim became an independent floor broker, owning his own seat on the Exchange. This upstart firm handled small option layoff executions and grew to include large institutional accounts and regional research firms. When he retired from the NYSE in 2007, after 22 distinguished years on the floor, he was responsible for managing 7 seats for his full service brokerage firm, Prime Executions, Inc. Tim’s success in the finance world is directly related to one important value his parents taught him and a value that he lived out in the USMC: Honor. Tim’s word is his bond and he truly believes that honor is the most important quality a businessman should possess.

In 2007, Tim’s career took two different paths. First, he opened Empire
Facilities and Project Management Co., providing a wide array of
maintenance solutions to industries such as entertainment, retail,
commercial, financial services, and hospitality. In addition to providing high quality solutions, Empire also provides many jobs for men and women in our great city, working hard to help boost the economy. Second, he was appointed the Director of Development for Xaverian High School, an all-boys Catholic college-preparatory school located in the heart of Bay Ridge. He is charged with working with the alumni of the school and community leaders to keep tuition affordable for working class families in New York City.

Tim has been married to his lovely wife, Maria, for over 20 years and together they have four children: two children in elementary school, one child in high school, and another who recently began his freshman year at Boston College. He has been active in the community for many years, currently serving as a trustee for Daytop Village, where he also serves on its Board of Governors. Tim has served as a trustee for the NYSE Floor Members Emergency Fund and the NYSE Hearings Board. In addition, he is a Founding Member of the “Friends of the Sisters of Life” and has served as an officer of the Cathedral Club of Brooklyn and the Kings County Republican Party, serving as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Finance Committee. For several years, Tim was also a member of Brooklyn Community Board 10.

Tim is proud to be the Conservative Party’s candidate for Congress in the 13th Congressional District representing the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn.
